Bonjour!

The French is still really tough and I'm kinda strugglin, but it'll be ok. :) We got a new investigator this week! Her name is Mimi and she owns like 20 cats. (Apparently all these investigators are people our teachers ran into on their missions... who knew?) She loves the missionaries and knows the Book of Mormon is true, but doesn't want to ask if the church is true because she doesn't want to join our church... We picked her up from some other sisters who taught her and we're surprised we are still teaching her because she has no desire to know the truth. She just likes having the sisters over so she has someone to talk to. Any tips?

So on Sunday Soeur Kendall and I were called to be the STL's (Sister Training Leaders). Basically we just carry a phone around (a super awesome flip phone) and if the front desk needs to get ahold of anyone in our zone we have to run and find them. We also get to welcome the new missionaries, but we don't get any till next week. It's already proving more difficult than I thought it would be because we have to be there for every sister in our zone, and I have a harder time focusing in class when I'm worried about their needs, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Guess what??? We got to hear from another apostle this week! Elder Rasband came and before he spoke our church leaders had us read his conference talk "Let the holy spirit guide." He pretty much just answered questions about his talk and listening to the spirit which is perfect because Soeur Kendall and I went and watched a talk by Elder Bednar about listening to the spirit just a couple nights before. Talk about powerful! Something Elder Bednar kept bringing up was that if we are doing our best to be a good person, most of the time we won't know if it's the spirit or us and that's ok. He said that while on his mission in Germany he got to pick up Elder Packer from the airport and help him get on a train. Before he put them on that train he gave them a 20 mark note because he thought they might get hungry. Years later he gets to meet Elder Packer again and asks if Elder Packer remembers him, and it turns out that their train had gotten stopped on the border of East Germany and the guards were having problems with his wife's passport. Elder Packer ended up giving them the 20 marks and they were able to make it through East Germany safely. After he had returned home he discovered that East Germany had been taking people off of trains because of bad passports, and discovered that the situation he had been in was a very bad one. He could clearly see the guards attempting to escort his wife off the train and he knew that he would not have allowed it while he was alive. Elder Bednar went on to say that in that moment he gave away the 20 marks he could not have told if it was the Holy Ghost or if it was just him, but in hindsight he knows it was the Holy Ghost. HOW COOL IS THAT?

On Wednesday we got to host again but this time we hosted missionaries from the U.S. I got to help a sweet missionary from Idaho who is serving in Kentucky get her books and get to class. I was so jealous that she had only one book while I had 20 lbs. of books on my first day!!! I guess that's what happens when you have to learn two languages. :P I'm a third of the way done with the MTC! How crazy is that? C'est tres fou! We have a bunch of people leaving this week, and four elders left last week, so our numbers are starting to dwindle. We still have the largest zone though. Our zone doubles most others, which makes it hard to take pictures on our Sunday temple walks! I've been taking pictures I swear, but I'm having a hard time finding computers that let me send them. They are few and far in between here in the MTC.

Favorite quote of the week: "I'm going to name my kid Dumble,"-Elder Dore

Favorite thing that happened this week: A glorious class period in which Elder Harrison got stuck in his desk and Soeur Kendall fell in a trashcan.

Favorite food I happened to find in the cafeteria: A chicken and bacon sandwich. 😍

Anyway, That's all I can think of right now, I forgot my journal, so I probably forgot something super important... LIKE THE FACT THAT IT'S ALMOST MOTHERS DAY AND I'LL GET TO SPEAK TO MY FAMILY!!! Can't wait! Or the fact that Souer Kendall killed her audition and gets to sing "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" in the Sunday devotional in front of thousands of people! Or the fact that I love my companion sooo much! She is honestly the best and we get along so well.

I love you all! Thanks for reading the rantings of a sleep deprived sister!
