Not from Lindsay: Interactive Google Map w Pictures of the LDS Church

Image
http://ldsellerstahiti.blogspot.com Interactive Huahine Map - Click on Lower Right Light Blue Icon to See Pictures OR Click on Yellow Man and then click on small light blue dots to see 360 photos These pictures were found clicking the double "up arrow" in the lower right of the screen. If you zoom into the Southeast side of Lake Fa'una Hui (Upper end of Island) right about where "Maeva" is labeled, you will see a building with a parking lot surrounding it. It seems to be the church. I wonder if members ride their boats to church and park at the dock? Lindsay says she lives near the airport which is on the north side of the lake. We are trying to find out how close to the church she lives:)

Iorana Everyone! Touring the Island that Inspired the Movie " Viana" , not  Moana This week has been crazy awesome! After I emailed on Monday we went with the Elders and a couple members and toured some of the beautiful beaches here! I wish cameras could capture the beauty of Huahine, but it's just not possible. You're just going to have to picture everything 100 times prettier and then maybe you can understand the beauty I'm surrounded by constantly! Also, fun fact, I'm on the island that inspired the new Disney movie Moana. How cool is that? My island is kind of shaped like a sleeping pregnant woman (like in Moana, except I don't think she was pregnant)... I wish I had a picture, but I'll get one for next week! Also, Moana is actually a boy's name here so in the Tahitian version they changed that name to the female version, Viana. Exact Drawing of Human Body with Important Words Like "Tummy"   Teaching Eng

Not from Lindsay: Information from Tahiti.com about Huahine

http://ldsellerstahiti.blogspot.com Huahine (from Tahiti.com) The Garden Island The island equivalent to the Garden of Eden, Huahine is an immense tropical jungle thriving with coconut plantations, vanilla orchids, banana groves, breadfruit trees and watermelon fields. Beyond its lush landscapes and bright blooms, Huahine is also a culturally preserved sanctuary with sacred temples hidden throughout dense vegetation. Undoubtedly, this island will leave you spellbound. The Locale Part of the Leeward Group of Society Islands, Huahine is a 40-minute flight from  Tahiti  and rests in close proximity to  Raiatea ,  Taha'a  and  Bora Bora . The island is divided into two parts: Huahine Nui (big) and Huahine Iti (small). The name Huahine, a variation of the Tahitian word  vahine  (woman), presumably refers to a mountain ridge resembling the outline of a pregnant woman—a symbol of the island's irrefutable fertility. Huahine is exceptionally green—perhaps with envy, s

Iorana Everyone! The LAX Airport - Luggage Craziness I made it to Tahiti without dying thanks to all your prayers I'm sure. :) So... Where do I even start??? We made it to the LAX airport even though we only had 6 week visas, so they pretty much said that the plane to Tahiti wouldn't take us but to go to LAX anyway and trust that the church would figure it out. Good thing Soeur Kendall had a phone and was able to talk to the church and remind them that we needed to get to Tahiti. So that was a party. Also, about an hour before we were supposed to board we realized that my luggage had only made it to the LAX airport when it was supposed to go all the way to Tahiti, so I ran back through security to figure it out and barely made it back in time to board! Talk about luck! Little did I know then that I would not get my luggage until  Thursday  and I had not brought a carry on because I could fit it all in those two suitcases. Good thing Soeur Kendall is around my same size a

6/9/17 MTC Week 9 - Heading Out, In Love, God Does Not Abandon

Iorana everyone!!! Leaving for Tahiti Monday! So it's official, this is my last email at the MTC!  How crazy is that??? I still don't think it's sunk in that I'm leaving yet, but maybe it'll be more real when I'm on the plane for an eternity. So this email might be a little shorter because we've been busy all day packing and still have so much to do!  So that picture you photoshopped last week was hilarious and both of my teachers died laughing. Way to go, mom! So all of the Tahitians are going together and we have another sister who will also be going with us! Her name is Sister Parkinson and she already knew French so she was on the fast track.  Lindsay's Teacher Souer Kimball in the Middle This Picture is REAL "In Love" at the MTC This week we moved into the new buildings and can I say WOW!  All of our classes are there now.      I'm not sure what's going to happen to the old buildings. I think they'll start tearin

6/2/17 MTC Week 8 - New MTC Building, Tahitian Words, Giving a Talk

Hey everyone!!! New MTC Building Lindsay will have classes there beginning June 5th "Match the Message" Panel and  the Addition to the MTC Complex So this week was crazy! We've started teaching completely in Tahitian and I'm still hopelessly lost (help). Soeur Kendall and I were on a panel for match the message which was so cool! I might've messed up a little bit, but c'est la vie. We also had the opportunity to tour a new building we'll be using starting  Monday  for class! It's such a pretty building and the reason we got to see it early was because they wanted us to model looking like missionaries and using the new building. It was really fun! We mostly just walked up and down stairs a lot, but now I can say I was a model while in the MTC! No idea what they're going to be doing with the pictures... I'll let you know when I find out.
