1/29/18 Week 1 - Transferred to Tahiti, Saying Good-bye

Image
Iaorana tatou!!! Transferred to the Big Island So transfers came and went and I got transferred! I left the beautiful island of Raiatea to go to... you guessed it, bora bora! Just kidding, I actually came to tahiti, but I landed on bora bora before landing on tahiti, so i'd say that counts. I got transferred right into the city of Papeete which is kinda scary because I'll be driving and they drive like maniacs here. On the plus side they do have a mcdonalds here, and it will be greatly appreciated.  English Suffers Due to New Keyboard This week we had zone conference and it was amazing. It's always so wonderful to see president ma!  And don't worry, I didn't crash the car this time. (p.s. if my email is a little weird this time it's because I'm typing on a french keyboqrd for the first time).  A New Investigator Ok, so Saturday morning we said goodbye to another sister who's going home! I's so crazy to see people

1/22/18 Raiatea Week 17 - Birthday, A Car Again, New Investigators

Iaorana Tatou!!! A Wonderful Birthday So this week was SO COOL!!! For starters it was my birthday Tuesday so whoopdy doo. I think the best part was Tirei, one of our members, was super excited for my birthday (because his is on the 11th) that he sent us a cute birthday text! He even wrote it in English which was super impressive. We were so unprepared for the next day though when he was on a split with us and mamie. He just pulled out two presents from his pockets right as he was getting out of the car hands them to us and then leaves. Anyway, we open them and lo and behold they're AWESOME BRACLETS WITH SHARK TEETH IN THEM! He knows us so well. The Tahitian Flag Having a Car Again and Troubleshooting Then, for my birthday president got us a car! Ok, it wasn't for my birthday, but we got it the day after so I'm counting it. It's just like the old one except gray. It had been in an accident on Tahiti and after they repaired it they sent it here.

1/15/18 Raiatea Week 16 (Week 39 Total) - Half Way Point, Teaching J__

Iaorana tatou!! Our Last Hike Prayers for My Grandparents So lots of crazy things have happened at home this week. My grandparents ended up in a car crash and grandpa had a concussion and grandma had to replace her shoulder. Prayers would be awesome from y'all.  Headaches So this week was interesting. Soeur Nicholls has been having some crazy bad headaches so we stayed home a lot. Way to go companion. Good thing I still love her.   Teaching Joseph NOW FOR THIS WEEK: We made some Temoin Jehova friends and they invited us to dinner. So we went and one's name is Joseph, but not like Joseph Smith he told us. Turns out he used to be a member of the church but later became temoin. Anyway, the dinner went really well, but he made it very clear he didn't want to talk about the gospel. Unfortunately that's our job, so we definitely snuck some gospel talk in like the punks we are. It ended up going really well and he didn't throw us out!!!

1/8/18 Raiatea Week 15 - Dinner with O_

Image
Iaorana Tatou!!! So this week was super awesome! We had a couple miracles I'll talk about vite fait because I don't have a lot of time (looks pointedly at companion...). Well really I just want to talk about one story. So we met someone this week named Odette who was a reference from her brother who lives in the states and met the new missionaries coming here (shoutout to all the newbie missionaries!). Anyway, Soeur Ma (the soeurs who live in our house) called her to set up and appointment and she screamed for joy.  Needless to say we were super stoked and went over there with R_ and her son who just got off of her mission. O_ was super cute and so excited to see us!!! Then we figured out that she thought we knew her brother and that's why she wanted to see us. Needless to say that was a little weird, but we taught the first lesson and the spirit was definitely there. At the end we invited her to read the Book of Mormon and she politely told us no. S

1/1/18 Raiatea Week 14 - A Christmas Miracle

Iaorana Tatou!!! Caroling as a Zone A Christmas Miracle So guess who had another awesome week? This sister missionary! But before I get started on this current week let me catch y'all up on what happened last week since I actually didn't really have time to write a good email. So Friday before Christmas. We went Christmas caroling as a zone and it was honestly so cool. We all picked 2 investigators to go see and told them beforehand we were coming because caroling is not a thing here. We saw the coolest miracle ever! So some Elders in our Zone were having problems with an amis de l'eglise because his dad would chase them away swearing at them, but somehow they got the agreement to be able to come and sing for them. From the moment we entered the house the family was nothing but hospitable and I thought it couldn't have been the same family until the father apologized to the Elders for chasing them away so many times. He even said that he felt so
