3/26/18 Papeete Week 9 - Pizza Everyday, Dwight Fright, Gratitude for Christ

Image
Iaorana Tatou!!! So something crazy that happened this week is that we got pizza almost every night dropped off at our house for our Faatamaaraas, so that was crazy. If I don't gain weight in this sector I will be shocked. We talked with the bishopric though and they'll announce something so we can actually eat with our members. As it is we have no idea who anyone in the ward is.  Foot Tanlines This week I went on a split with my faamu faamu grandma!!! (the 2nd trainer of my 2nd trainer) Her name is Soeur Siale and she's absolutly fabulous! I learned so much from her even though it was only one day. We had a lesson with L_ and T_ and they said that they still want to wait until next year to get married on their daughter's birthday. I'm so sad, but we're working with them to hopefully see that they can't wait a year to get married and baptized AND another year to get sealed.  Saturday was kinda cool because we ran into a mem

Iaorana tatou!   I'm a sucker for sunsets. A Reunion The only word coming to my mind when I think of this week is "ridiculous", so buckle up y'all. So with transfer calls last week SÅ“ur Bready and I are both staying, but guess who is coming into our district? My twin!!! Soeur Nicholls gets to party with us in Papeete!!! Honestly these six weeks being with a different companion has been so different because we were together for 4 1/2 months, so by the end we were the same person.  Soeur Kaufusi Lives in Our House Soeur Kaufusi Also: the new sister in our house who sÅ“ur ma is training is so wonderful! Her name is SÅ“ur Kaufusi and she is Tongan, from New Zealand, and has lived in Australia for the past couple years. Needless to say, she's fabulous. Love her and all souer ma.    We had a Faatamaaraa for Soeur Basset's birthday! Great News! L_ and T_ have decided that they want to get married and baptized the 12 of May !!! We'

3/12/18 Papeete - Week 7 - Staying, Patrick and Tatiana, Word of Wisdom Success

Iaorana tatou!!! Staying this Transfer So this week the rule changed for emailing in our mission and now we have a half hour less, so if my emails seem a little rushed that would be why. ;) Transfer calls came and went and I... (drumroll please) WILL BE STAYING IN PIRAE 2 WITH SOEUR BREADY! So excited to keep working hard with her!  Our Apartment Complex For P-day this week we got to hang out with our zone! We all got together at a church and made crepes and then played basketball and soccer. Update: I still still stink at both of those games? but we still managed to have a good time. ;) Teaching Patrick and Tatiana This week was super awesome because we had 2 member splits. That is a new record for these past six weeks and they both went really well! The first was with an ami named P_ and he is so awesome! This was only our first lesson with him and already he was asking really intelligent questions and making a lot of really cool connections. Love it!

3/5/18 Papeete Week 6 - Flying Cockroaches and Rodents, Movie Night with Gospel Essentials Class, Reminders

Iaorana tatou! Flying Cockroaches So about last week, I totally forgot to tell y'all about an experience with flying cockroaches. There was a cockroach in the house and Soeur Basset being the fast thinking human that she is handed me a empty container to trap it in. You heard that right-- yours truly caught a cockroach. I did not kill this cockroach because we were too afraid to move the box because when they're mad, they fly in your face and hard pass on angry-cockroach-to-the-face, but we did put a couple books on it and left it in the middle of our kitchen floor for a couple days. True story. Eventually Soeur Basset was brave enough and killed it, but it was in our kitchen for a good 2 or 3 days. The Local Mall and Johnny Lingo Returns This week was absolutely crazy, so be prepared. For starters, last P-day we went to the Marché in Papeete and it is HUGE. I'll put a picture below but it is gigantic. You can find anything there from handmade pearl
