8/13/18 Puurai Week 5 - Baptisms, Cats, I'm sleeping

Iaorana Tatou!
So I totally forgot my camera at the house like the punk I am, so I apologize in advance.
This week was a week of miracles! First of all we will soon be having 3 baptisms! One this week for M__ who is so ready and has changed so much in his life! I got here almost right at the beginning of teaching him and it has honestly just been amazing. Talk about someone who has been prepared by the Lord. He stopped drinking and smoking even before we talked about the word of wisdom because he knew it wasn't good for him... The 25th we'll be having the baptism of K__, the twin of H__ and we're so excited for her! She's really been inspired by the example of her sister. And the 8th we'll be having the baptism of He__. She's someone who has also been prepared by the Lord and already took the lessons before when she was young, but it never went farther than that. We watched a video about how our bodies are temples and she just said "I never want to be a dirty temple." and then we were able to explain about the Word of Wisdom. It is such a temptation here because everyone and their dog drinks and smokes, but somehow at the age of 19 without being a member of the church she has never done those things. She said she always knew it was bad for her and even though her parents drink constantly, it was never a temptation for her. Such a miracle!
In our ward we had 2 missionaries leave this week, one for Australia and the other for Africa. We had the opportunity to support them by going to their setting apart, and it was so bitter sweet! Sweet because I was reminded of my own setting apart and how unprepared I was for the adventure and blessings I've received, and bitter because for those of you who don't own a calendar I'm finishing soon.
Ok, on a happier note, something terrible happened this week. Do you remember when Soeur Fowers had a toddler pee on her bag? I set my backpack down in cat poop... and didn't notice until I smelled like a poorly kept petting zoo. It was the stuff of nightmares, and you can be sure I'll never be making that mistake again.
Other highlights of the week sponsored by random ten year old boy who we've talked to like twice. The conversation went down a little like this (translation included): "Hey, is your brother there? We have a lesson with him right now." "lemme go check! (pause as he goes and bothers his brother) He's sleeping." "Ok. Not a problem. Do you want to talk to us?" "I'm sleeping." "Right now? You're sleeping while talking to us?" "Yes." Now that I wrote it all out I realize that it's not as funny in English... Sorry for the poor translation.

Anyway, that's pretty much it! I love you all and please keep your bags away from cat poop! It's not pretty for the eyes or for the nose!

Love you!
Soeur Sellers
