9/3/18 Puurai Week 8 - French Companion, Driving Issues Yet Again, Miracles

My Companion Soeur Mortier from France
Iaorana Tatou!!!

So, This week was actually crazy. It always is the week after transfers. We went to the airport 3 times, drove all over the planet, and went and picked up a new sister from presidents house! Other than that not much happened... Just kidding! Y'all thought you were done hearing about car adventures, but AITA PAHAIA. So throwback to the MTC when Soeur Kendall and I were together! She just got back from being on an island pretty far away, and she was transferred into an area where she would be driving stickshift.

Our Church Building, the Prettiest on the Island
Anyway, we talked with the Assistants and got permission for her to practice before her test on our car in a church parking lot. Now, I was feeling pretty confident I could help her because I have taught two people how to drive and after a couple minutes we were feeling pretty good about it. And then we stalled on the only hill in the parking lot. I showed her that cool emergency brake trick and we decided to give it a shot. Only we were accidentally in third gear. About 10 seconds later we were all outside watching in shock the crazy amount of smoke that was pouring out of our engine. It smelled so bad that a member who was driving by smelled it before he saw it. Anyway, more members came, they jumped the car and all was well.

OR WAS IT??? The next morning we all piled into the car to take them to the mission office AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START. We called the sister who in in charge of the cars who told us to call our zone leaders, who came and helped us, but in the end couldn't do anything, and then we called the elders in the office. They were able to replace the battery, but it took over 5 hours to get in all sorted out. But don't worry, in the end Soeur Kendall did pass her driving test... For an automatic car and they switched with someone else.

THE END

Ok, other things about this week: We had SO MANY MIRACLES! For the first time (and probably the last time) I had someone call and ask for the missionary lessons, and then when we met up with her she brought up joining the church herself. She has been so prepared by the Lord it blows my mind. Also, we invited our Zone leaders to come and give V__ a priesthood blessing and her boyfriend asked for one too. The blessings were so inspired and exactly what each of them needed. In fact her boyfriend agreed to meet with us on Friday! Honestly, the gospel is such a beautiful thing!

Anyway, I don't have much time left today, but I love you all and hope you have a great week! And good luck to everyone who's starting their semester! Talk to y'all later!
