Iorana Tatou! (For those of you who are unaware, Tatou means everyone) Coconut Bread So this week flew by! That's what happens when you're busy! I learned how to make that wonderful coconut bread I love more than life, and unfortunately I cannot make it in the U.S. I'm pretty much heartbroken, but time heals all wounds... or so they say. Teaching with President and Sister Fox and Bug Bites Sister Wissocq's - When You Want to Study Outside But Happen to Be Allergic To Bug Bites Our mission president came this week! Since he's new he was meeting all the missionaries and touring all the islands so we got to be his chauffeurs for the day! It was really fun because Sister Fox is about where I'm at with French and President Fox was a little rusty, so we all got French lessons from Soeur Wissocq. We got to teach a couple lessons with him and his wife and that was super cool! Sam was like a little boy on Christmas when he found out he got to meet ...

Iorana!!!  Breakfast at the House Picture with Papi Rodger Sister Wissocq and Food This week has been amazing, so buckle up! For starters Soeur Wissocq is a super good cook and I count my blessings everyday for that because I have no idea what to do with most of this foreign food. ;) T hey have AMAZING coconut bread here that I'm determined to learn how to make before I come home. It's to die for.   They call white people "Popa", only my companion has called me popa so far though. :) Soeur Wissocq is from Venezuela, but moved to France when she was 17 so she's fluent in French and Spanish.  I love having so much time to study in the mornings! This next week will not be like that at all. ;) My nose isn't stuffy anymore, but I have a cough still. :) Cow Horn Bestowal Another thing I'm really grateful for is how kind the people are here. Andre gave us some cow horns he had lying around because he knew that Soeur Wissocq loves cows....

Iorana! Winter In Fare on Huahine By Our House This week has been crazy awesome! It started out fairly rough because (surprise) I got sick again. It wasn't that bad, but it's already tough trying to speak French with a non-stuffy nose. ;)I t 's winter right now. I think I'm going to cry when summer comes in October/ November. We leave the windows open at night and have a ceiling fan so it's never too hot to sleep. I live in Fare , super close to the airport. We cover this island and have to cross a bridge to get to the elders' area. Sister Wissocq and I cover one ward. There are only two wards here, and the other ward meets where the elders are. Our church is  9:00 . Fast and testimony meeting is similar to ours in the States.   Polynesian Delicacies in Backyard Bananas So every week we have a district meeting with the Elders and switch who brings food every time. They brought in tupas (crabs) that they had caug...

Iorana Everyone! Touring the Island that Inspired the Movie " Viana" , not  Moana This week has been crazy awesome! After I emailed on Monday we went with the Elders and a couple members and toured some of the beautiful beaches here! I wish cameras could capture the beauty of Huahine, but it's just not possible. You're just going to have to picture everything 100 times prettier and then maybe you can understand the beauty I'm surrounded by constantly! Also, fun fact, I'm on the island that inspired the new Disney movie Moana. How cool is that? My island is kind of shaped like a sleeping pregnant woman (like in Moana, except I don't think she was pregnant)... I wish I had a picture, but I'll get one for next week! Also, Moana is actually a boy's name here so in the Tahitian version they changed that name to the female version, Viana. Iorana Everyone! The LAX Airport - Luggage Craziness I made it to Tahiti without dying thanks to all your prayers I'm sure. :) So... Where do I even start??? We made it to the LAX airport even though we only had 6 week visas, so they pretty much said that the plane to Tahiti wouldn't take us but to go to LAX anyway and trust that the church would figure it out. Good thing Soeur Kendall had a phone and was able to talk to the church and remind them that we needed to get to Tahiti. So that was a party. Also, about an hour before we were supposed to board we realized that my luggage had only made it to the LAX airport when it was supposed to go all the way to Tahiti, so I ran back through security to figure it out and barely made it back in time to board! Talk about luck! Little did I know then that I would not get my luggage until  Thursday  and I had not brought a carry on because I could fit it all in those two suitcases. Good thing So...
