1/22/18 Raiatea Week 17 - Birthday, A Car Again, New Investigators
Iaorana Tatou!!!
A Wonderful Birthday
So this week was SO COOL!!! For
starters it was my birthday Tuesday so whoopdy doo. I think the best
part was Tirei, one of our members, was super excited for my birthday
(because his is on the 11th) that he sent us a cute birthday text! He
even wrote it in English which was super impressive. We were so
unprepared for the next day though when he was on a split with us and
mamie. He just pulled out two presents from his pockets right as he was
getting out of the car hands them to us and then leaves. Anyway, we open
them and lo and behold they're AWESOME BRACLETS WITH SHARK TEETH IN
THEM! He knows us so well.

Having a Car Again and Troubleshooting
Then, for my
birthday president got us a car! Ok, it wasn't for my birthday, but we
got it the day after so I'm counting it. It's just like the old one
except gray. It had been in an accident on Tahiti and after they
repaired it they sent it here. They didn't repair it well enough though
because on our way to go pink up Tirei for that split OUR CAR BROKE DOWN
NOT 20 FEET AWAY FROM WHERE WE HAD THE CAR CRASH. Either I'm cursed or
that place is cursed because something weird is happening. Anyway, Mamie
finds some people to help push our car into the parking lot, and then
we popped the hood. Fun fact: I know squat about cars. I know where to
find the oil, the windshield wiper fluid and that's about it. Anyway, we
were just looking in the hood stupified when an angel of a woman points
out that one of the wires going to the battery was disconnected
because it hadn't been tightened enough. We tightened it and continued
on our journey only to have the car break down again one more time
before we could find a wrench that could actually tighten it. Whew!
Someone New to Teach
We
saw so many miracles this week! For one we went to go see an ancient
amie (someone who used to meet with the missionaries) and she said she
wasn't interested, but while we were walking to our car we saw this
woman in the road. We started talking to her and found out that she had
taken the lessons before and we asked if she would be interested to meet with us again. She said she would love to! She had really enjoyed it the
first time and really learned a lot! We'll see where this goes!
A New Ward Mission Leader
Another
miracle we saw was that we were able to talk to our DMP (ward mission
leader). We haven't had one for the past 3 months and the missionary
work has really suffered. Anyway, we met with him and his wife and they
are so amazing!!! I know that missionary work is going to pick up
because they are two dedicated people!!! Love them!
A Great P-day
Anyway,
that's pretty much all for this week. JUST KIDDING! Huahine ma came
this morning and Tahaa ma came too so we spent all P-day playing games.
We played mafia, prision ball (something like dodge ball but more
intense), and card games. Good times. ALSO: Soeur ma went with us on a
"pastry date" and we went to a fancy french restaurant. It was so good!
I love you all! Have an amazing week and always remember that God loves you!!!
