9/17/18 Puurai Week 10 - Learning to Love, Eat and Be More Like Christ
Iaorana Tatou!
So, life is good, I'm loving serving here in Puurai and Tipaerui with Soeur Mortier. The end.
Just
kidding, but honestly not a ton happened last week. We did see some
miracles though! First of all we fasted (went 24 hours without food or
water in prayer) to help T__ find out if the baptism date that we
gave her (the 20 of October) is a good date for her and her family. We
showed up to finish our fast together and she had received her answer.
She got the answer that she is ready to be baptized the 20th of October
and that she will be sealed in the year 2021 in the temple with her
family and her soon to be husband. The most incredible thing though is
that she is willing to keep the law of chastity until she and her
boyfriend can get married, and that could take quite some time (he's
getting out of a messy divorce). I have never seen so much faith in all
of my life and God will never cease to amaze me.
Other
than that not a ton happened. We went to Tipaerui for church and
everyone was so nice. The whole ward thought that they idn't have
missionaries anymore, and were so happy to share us with the ward of
Puurai. One lady was so happy to see us and invited us to come eat with
them last night. We went and it was CRAZY. There were like 5 kids
screaming at once, but this kind woman took the time to feed us and talk
to us even though she had to also take care of her children. Honestly,
the people here treat us like they would the Savior if he were here,
because they know that having the representatives of Jesus Christ in
their home will bless them and it is such an honor.
I
have so much left to learn from a people whose capacity to love astounds
me every day, and I am grateful for every single day I've spent here
learning how to love, how to eat, and how to be a little more like
Christ.
I love you all and hope you have a great week! Go out and change the world!!!ldsellerstahiti.blogspot.com
